Is anyone using one of these pads?  I could do with some advice regarding filling with sand: - 

do I fill all 4 pads? and

should I use heavy sand, ordinary sand or another medium

You really only need to fill the 2 outer pockets with sand. Any sand is fine and only fill them about half full so that your bipod runners are able to track nicely in them rather than sliding about on the top of them if you understand what I mean.

Justin’s spot on. There’s no point in filling the middle two, it achieves nothing. I came to the conclusion that it part of the design to hold the outer two in the correct position and so it folds neatly into one piece.

If you fully fill the outer two it’s difficult to get them flat so a partial fill is much better.
