Pretty certain you will have to have a line or two added to your FAC, normally specifying the primary club you intend to use.

Do not think this will be an issue and probably a no cost alteration.

Give your FLO a quick call as they all seem to have their own part hates/loves :)

Speaking as the Secretary of a target shooting club: you will need to join a club and you may be required to do three months probation (or more dependant on club policy). Don't be surprised by this, it's the law. An exception can be made by the committee if they believe you are sufficiently skilled in firearms handling (many hunters are borderline dangerous in my experience). The club will need to fill in a form (Staffordshire do anyhow) endorsing your membership and what firearm types can be used at their ranges.

When you're a full member you should be able to shoot on none-club ranges, for example, enter open competitions, shoot at Bisley, Diggle etc.

Not all calibers are acceptable on a target range, for example 22-250 are way over range limits for velocity to use on any military gallery range. 1000m/s and below 4500J muzzle energy is a typical limit. Over 4500J can be shot but only if your endorsed for HME and have a HME RCO to officiate mandatory zeroing.

There's plenty of good clubs about, good luck!
