PPU

I have just bought a couple of hundred PPU 308 cases just to try them out .However  up till now I have used both Federal and CCI primers and some 30% are really tough to go in to the pocket and have crushed a few in the process . Is there a more PPU friendly primer brand or another fix ?

(I bought these to see if they were a viable alternative to Lapua)

Not had a problem with PPU cases myself, I use them on 3 calibres. Easy way round your problem is a primer pocket reamer - I use them to reclaim ex military cases. I can't remember how much they cost, but I think it was a few pounds from either 1967spud  or CDSG

I use sellier bellot primers in 243 ppu brass with no issues. My problem is that the cases are always very tight to close the bolt on.

I had the same problem with reloading 6.5CM S&B brass with CCI 200.

Using a primer pocket reamer shaved off quite a bit of brass but no problems with tight bolt closing after that.
