Nick 53
Hi, what are the pro and cons of using a Primer Pocket uniformer? This is for 6 br rifle using Lapua brass. Nick
The Gun Pimp
Don't use it until you've fired the cases one time Nick. Otherwise you could slightly open up the pocket - the last thing you want. Slack pockets will be one of the reasons your brass becomes scrap. Honestly, with Lapua brass, there is little to be gained - except perhaps for 6PPC short range benchrest.
trucraft
I use after first firing on all my calibers and then each time I prep there after. It cleans up the pockets prior to priming perfectly. Never had any issues. I think K&M do a depth adjustable so you can set up to just clean the minimum. Martin52
This is the best tool I have found, but as already said, go easy to avoid enlarging the pockets. Cleans up the p/p's well however. http://www.pmatool.com/pma-lapua-small-primer-pocket-ultimate-uniformer-complete-w-handle-and-power-adapter/
