Ronin
Hopefully more will be added to this thread about the comp Just has two cracking days at the first of the Precision Rifle League shoots in the UK The first being held at the Gardner Guns range at Eskdalemuir Day one was affected by the weather - low cloud and heavy rain caused the Comp to be postponed so the twenty odd competitors spent the day practicing on available targetry and positional shooting out to 1000 and beyond where breaks in limited visibility allowed. Nothing anyone can do about the weather and any range can be affected so all competitors and attending staff just got on with it- no moans or whines. Day two (today) saw totally different conditions , 5-8 mph wind, no cloud and dare I say some blue sky . There were ten stages all with ten round “hit or miss” scoring Targetry from 200 to 1000 yards with several tricky shooting positions - shooting from wall, trailer, barricade , kneeling , from digger bucket, standing and prone in timed situations. There was one UKD stage which was steep incline. Very similar to the PRS style of match in the US Have had a great two days shooting, massive thank you to Marc Gardner and team for setting this up along with Tiff (Roundhouse) and Rob from Edgar Brothers for supporting what will hopefully be the start of a new national competition series. Well done to the winners of their classes (open gun JMH, factory -Tiff and Team (Rob Tiff and JMH) This Comp should appeal to anyone interested in multi distance shooting. Its a challenge, but really great style of shoot and for those who maybe were thinking of entering - please do next time it’s FUN, relaxed and entertaining facet of rifle shooting Will try and post some pics later

LONG RANGE CAPT
An outstanding event, with some excellent shooting by all. This will be the start of a series of competitions for 2019 the scores from which will go towards a Precision Rifle League. Here are some pictures of this weekends event:- Stages 5 & 6 envolved 2 gongs, to be engaged with 5 shots each, 2 mins total, key stipulation being that the shooter had to engage the targets from the slope. Stage 7, required the shooter to engage targets of an unknown distance with a total of 10 rds in 2 mins or less, with the shooter firing over or around the trailer. LONG RANGE CAPT
Had quite a number of enquiry's with regard to people asking about the Precision Rifle League (PRL). The next opportunity before the PRL kicks off properly in 2019 is as follows:- Saturday 29th December - Winter 2018 Roundhouse Rifle Challenge - Individual Short Range Precision, including the THLR Long Range Proficiency Test. Time: 08:30 - 16:00 Target Distance: Max 600m Price: £80 p.p. Round Count: 80 (max 3,200 fps & .30 cal) Entry limited to 24 shooters, first come first served - additional family, spotters and RCO's however very welcome. This festive event will involve a revised format and be shot on an individual basis, with dedicated RCO's / Spotters at each stage. There will be a mixture of static covered firing points and exposed steel safari's, shot in squads of four or six. There will be between eight and twelve separate stages across the day. Additionally Tiff, has produced several large fire pits for the indoor range, with plenty of mince pies and other nibbles to go round. When not shooting a stage, if the weather is inclement, you will be able to stay warm and enjoy the day in there. It's Tiff's way of saying thank you for your continuing support and the perfect excuse to escape the extended family for a bit or even bring them along to watch... To register please email: roundhousefirearms@gmail.com Kind regards Rob
