Malxwal
I had a cursory look at t'interweb to see if there were options regarding replacing the plastic bottom metal on an M595 with something more substantial. Can anyone enlighten me as to the way forward with this ? Nothing obvious jumped out at me. Cheers Malc
baldie
Yes it can be done. I have in stock, the floor plates to accept an AICS mag. However, its not as simple as a T3. The action itself has to be machined out slightly, and that means it needs re proofing.
Tralle
I came across a Norwegian that made metal ones for factory magazines. I will see if i can look it up. !! Update, it was a swede, and it was only the mag release. Sorry. http://bergmansbossmakeri.se/produkter/magasinspärr tikka.html
Catch-22
Baldie is right about some milling of the action underside. I bought the CDI Precision bottom metal specifically designed for the M595 to accept AICS mags. Worked a dream, never any feeding issues. The CDI bottom metal was good quality too, the magazine catch was robust. I had the work done at the same time as a rebarrel, so the action and barrel were proofed at the same time. i ordered direct from CDI in the States - nice people to deal with. Here's what I got: http://www.cdiprecisiongunworksstore.com/tikka-595-short-action-dbm/
