According to the advice of Reload-Swiss, I advise these charges with RS70. With the Scenar 180L tips. Someone has experience with this bullet and gunpowder.

The rifle is a 28 "Sabatti with multi radial cannon ...

The image above is a ladder, that a partner and I are going to share ...

In the end the dust supplies Vhita 165 in Spain are limited, and I had to resort to RS70, yes or yes.

I believe that Paul hill used the 7mm saum. RS70 and 180gr scenar l's to will last year's European championships.

I use H1000 with the 180gr hybrids.

N165 with the 180gr scenar l's

He used N160 according to this article:

if I am wrong with that then my apologies to Laurie ?

Things are getting a bit confused here, the accurate shooter article referred to relates to a rifle chambered in 284 win.

Correct, wrong article. It was RS70 in his new RSAUM:

Project frustrated ... the space is small for the 180L Scenar. The vhita 165 does not fit. I'll try the RS70 to see if there's room for everything. Otherwise I will have to resort to faster gunpowder and the 175 of SMK.

Have you considered Berger bullets?

I have had good luck with 175 elite Hunter.

Should give you more space in the case and they have a better BC than the smk (at least om paper)

Cheaper also, at least for me.

Yes the 180gr scenar l's seat real deep.i run mine on.60grs of n165 and they shoot great.ive not tried upping the load as they shoot great as they are.at current temperatures there doing around 3000fps.approx 2900fps in winter temps.if you get your chamber throated for the 180gr scenar l's you will have more room for powder.mine is throated for 180gr hybrids so it sounds like yours is throated similar to mine.have you got a big enough magazine to hold a scenar throated long.using 180gr hybrids and 64.5grs of H1000 my bal cal tells me at current temps velocity is 3070fps so there is very little gain and at the end of the day accuracy kills.accuracy wins.what do you want.accuracy or velocity......?

This is my 180gr scenar l's load which has 20 thousandths jump to the lands.not sure how much longer that is in millimetres

Groups shot off the roof of my pickup today using a bipod and rear sand sock.it was miraging a little and ruined the group by letting one go.i tested some other ammo and adjusted scope to shoot another 180gr scenar group with no miraging.i was very pleased with this 3 shot group.its a shame the ES was poor.faint ejector marks aswell.just a tad warm for this very warm weather.

bottom photo was 5 shot group that was shot first.top group later 3 shots only20180701_145932.jpg

Ladder to look for the 2850 feet. There is the node. I thought that with the RS70 I would not have space problems with the lands so close.

Groups of three ... confirming the character of each speed. The lands are at 0.50 millimiters

The bedroom is not the best. But it is in .3205 that is not too bad either ... seal the brass norma well.

And everything points that there is a higher note for the 3000 feet per second. No pressure symptoms at 890 ms

Do you think I should look for a node over the 3000 to compete at 900 yards with the 300 WSM or with the 2850 node (870 ms), will it be enough taking advantage of the precision of seven millimeters? The barrel is 28 "polygonal sabatti ... and generates few pressures and very little copper drag, during the cleanings of shooting ...

Getting it shooting small groups at 100yds and a low ES and that will do you fine.ballistically the big high bc 30 cal bullets are marginally better but i think its more about the shooter.there is so little gain running them flat out it's not worth the wear on the barrel and the brass.i don't mess about to much anymore.if it shoots great I use it.i pulled a few of these scenar loads and found some were a 1/10 of a grain plus variation which doesn't add up to Es's I was getting.i think I will have to reduce 0.3gr and try them.i can't risk the verticles for this weekend coming.incidently one of the chronied shots was 3002fps which was the fastest out the 4 i checked.i may just use my 180gr hybrid load this weekend and try the reduced load for a good ES and hope the accuracy hasn't changed.am beginning to like these scenars.my scenar load was 60grs on N165 not 60.5gr.that was another reason I pulled some because I wanted to check because I didn't write it down.

But the question is: 2850 fps, are enough for a 900-yard competition, in a field marked by its winds. Or I should go up to 2950/3000 looking for a higher node. Considering, that my immediate competitors use the 300 WSM also on the 3000 fps.

I'm starting with this new cartridge. And I do not know yet, how much precision I can get to the barrel of polygonal Sabatti. I do not know if the low node, fine tuning the accuracy will be enough ... or look for more speed ... in the test, I've seen that I have to travel to win.
As for the wear of the cannon ... in Spain, there are only two annual competitions ... 400/500 shots and that's it ... The rifle is cheap, production so to speak, and for two years, the investment is little.

I think about the idea of working with 2850 pfs, for distances of 300 and 600 yards. Looking for precision. And to 900 stress a little more the barrel and look for more speed to counteract the difficult wind of the field ... looking for a node path of 3000 fps ...
