chaz
Hi folks, I want to measure my brass case capacity via the water. But going on the research I've read, and videos I've watched, some people say the case should be full length sized first, while others say it should be a fire formed, unsized case. I presume difference may come from whether you FL size, or Neck size your brass. But obviously at some point you would need to FL size to push the shoulder back, or use a body die. But regardless of what way i reload, is there a definitive 'right' way of doing it, regarding FL sized, or fire formed? Cheers Chaz.
Webby
Having tried it before using barrettes and syringes + needles, it is extremely time consuming trying to fill the cases to zero meniscus level and without any minuscule air bubbles getting trapped inside. Have gone back to weighing cases with every possible dimension equalised. Shooting FTR at national league level I cannot say for sure if it improves precision however I still do it. Webby
However in answer to yr question. I would always do it with a fired case primer left in as recommended I believe for Quickload capacity input.
