kaduflyer Posted April 5, 2018 Report Share Posted April 5, 2018 Hi ive just got hold of a yukon photon xt 6.5x50 it has a doubler fitted problem is in daylight with cover with small hole in when viewing theres a small white spot visable on screen when turn it to darker room its fine no probs any idea what the cause is thanks also if i was to make it into extreme type what is the equipment i would need ie best camera lense to fit straight on to main body and does extreme have any benefits Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Charlts Posted April 5, 2018 Report Share Posted April 5, 2018 The small hole let’s through a small amount of light, that’s what you’re seeing hence why it disappears when it’s dark. 243TSR Posted May 26, 2018 Report Share Posted May 26, 2018 Again, stick with the doubler and lift the lens cap, or at the very least push out the centre to give you a larger aperture. You'll find zero shift if you use the small pin hole ( due to possible off centre image on lens ) and then lift the lens cap at night. I've found the doubler ( no lens cap ) gives greater clarity over the standard xt photon. For daylight use i just turn down the image brightness, though you can get flickering if a bright day.
