VarmLR
Having bought a load of SAKO cases for my .223 (all 1F) the first thing I did was to compare case capacities with my fired PPU. Both were near identical at close on 30.4gr H2O , despite the case weight of the Sako brass being heavier (Sako average was 101.7gr empty case weight compared with 98.5gr for the PPU). I still have to fireform the Sako cases to my chamber but don't expect them to change significantly. Looking back on previous notes, case capacities on my old Lapua .223 was something similar (I think that these measured as 30.5gr H2O). In the experience of others, providing that case capacities remain so close, would one expect pressures, hence velocities to vary much given the same load in each? I plan to check anyway, but was just interested in the experiences of others.
