Woodlander
I have an ASE SL5i mod on my .204 and after only a handful of shots, the heat haze off it makes it difficult to carry on shooting. Do neoprene covers help,or any other methods? It's driving me mad.... thanks

rhhudson
I've got a Kevlar one on my wildcat evo mod. Looks a lot better than the cheap neoprene ones. But obviously costs more. I think the guy only makes them for wildcat now.

lenteped
You could try Sam at Sporting Services who sells TAB Gear covers--not cheap but custom-made and excellent. Cheers, Jon

Vortex
Would highly recommend burn proof gear mod covers. Got one imported from the company based in the states. Custom fit for your mod, the one I went for is rated to full auto so no problem for over here. There really wasn’t any noticeable haze that effected my view after carrying out rapid fire and getting the mod hot enough to burn your skin, could hold it with the cover on tho. Woodlander
Excellent, thanks for the replies. I did think neoprene covers were to protect them against knocks and reflection. Off to look for one now.
Dalua
On my Northstar, I use a length of camo-printed neoprene tube intended as a cover for the barrels of a 12b double gun. It's lasted years, and I've still got the other part of the tube for when the bit in current use gets too ragged.

Grum87
I've got a Coletac on my 338, and previously had a TAB on another rifle. Both very well made. They do cut down haze, but ultimately, the best way to prevent moderator haze is take the fooker off.

Andrew
There are a number of US makers producing them. TAB is on the high side, price wise. I got mine from Dakota Silencer: $45 US. I won't shoot my CF suppressor without it in place.~Andrew
