gbal
johnny; . Google the " Berger Twistrate Stability Calculator." You will get reliable info on the stability of bullet weights in cal/twist-in some detail-eg marginal...stable...well stable 'on a scale.. It is a scale variable, which is why one rifle might be reported as ok (just)by it's user and another with nominally the same twist (it can vary a little by make, despite what is claimed) may well be marginal. That's not to say someone with exactly your rifle model/twist won't be useful info as well, but if you want general acceptable range of bullet weights for any calibre and twist,Berger is your source. gbal ... 6mmBR
What cartridge are you planning on chambering it in? A 1 in 9 will shoot from 155-230 in a .308 but in a magnum cartridge like a .300WSM proberbly 200-230 grain would be more appropriate for a long range bullet. johnnyb0_1
Gbal, thanks for that, very useful. Dave, was hoping it would cover 155's up to 200gn in 308 and as you state it does indeed. Thanks and regards to both of you. JP.
