H1lux
Hi folks, been lurking about for a while. Plan to take the plunge on a Drone this year but I’ve got a bit of a dilemma. I intend to use the Drone mainly for foxing, to that end I’ve got a choice of rifles to put it on. Do I put it on; a. Howa 1500 in 308 b. CZ 527 in 223 Here’s the dilemma. I believe it’s easier to get the mounts for the Howa. The CZ is an older version but perfect for the job, that said I’ve not seen any mounts available for the Drone/CZ. Anyone mounted a Drone on a CZ 527? Cheers, Dave
Charlts
I'm using a reach back Drone specific rail on my Howa and my Stiller, both via Country Sports Wholesale.
AnthonyR
223 for me, 308 seems a bit unnecessary for fox work. Rail here: https://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/product/reed-resolution-cz-527-aluminium-low-profile-picatinny-rail/
Richiew
Hi All Alan Rhone website has pic rails that slide onto dovetails and lock with 2 big screws , very solid as have one on my anschutz 64 action for mounting the drone 10x to. these can be specced with diferent moa slant although mine just zero/ flat .also saw some rails in gunmart Britannia ??? look rather good as they have a cut out for the ejection port . dont buy any that clamp on with side bolts / screws as they foul on the drone quick release parts as I found out to my own cost . hope this helps cheers Richie
Mick Miller
Get the Barton Gunworks rails for the CZ, they reach well forward to give adequate eye relief, the price is reasonable(ish) and they're precisely machined so you'll have no problems with fit either. H1lux
Many thanks for all the really helpful replies. Much appreciated for pointing me in the right direction. How far back is the Drone sitting on a CZ? Cheers Dave
