chaz
Hi folks, Anyone out there using Peterson "Match-Grade Brass" ? Just wondering how it compares to Lapua, and if it's worth giving it a go as apposed to Lapua? Any constructive opinions appreciated. Cheers. Chaz. Andrew
Hi folks, Anyone out there using Peterson "Match-Grade Brass" ? Just wondering how it compares to Lapua, and if it's worth giving it a go as apposed to Lapua? Any constructive opinions appreciated. Cheers. Chaz. I just got 200, 6.5CM cases in. The brass seems very consistent in prepped length but I haven't had time to weigh any. Some of the PRS guys are very happy with it. Here it is as cheap as Hornady and comes fully prepped and in a plastic ammo box. That's hard to pass up on. I need to go to the City right now but I can weigh a handful of cases this evening and get back to you if you wish?~Andrew
Andrew
I decided to weigh a quick sample. These are 10 cases randomy chosen out of four boxes of 50 cases. Weighed on my Ohaus scale, in grains. 170 170.1 170.8 170.7 170.4 169.9 169.8 170 170.4 170.6 Case lengths were all within .002" of each other. Hope this helps. ~Andrew

bradders
Does anyone import/sell Peterson brass in the UK? Viking Arms were bringing some in, although I don't know what ever came of that, but I believe Bernie Montana from EPA might have also

Andrew
Thanks for the replies, especially taking the time to weigh some Andrew. Seems they're worth a punt for 50! Cheers Chaz After reading some of the PRS shooters comments I decided to grab a couple of hundred. As I said, here, they are exactly the same price as the Hornaday UBP: About $35 US /50 but they come prepped and in a plastic case. I have a lot of Hornady brass, much of it is loaded so I'm afraid that a long term analysis won't begin until i wear the Hornady out! They do claim that they engineer their brass to give the longest service life. If that's so, and the Quality remains the same, I'm switching brands on a permanent basis. One of my friends boughtt 6.5 and 300 Win Mag. I hope that when harvest is over we can get out for a test.~Andrew
Incisor
I've got a load of the 375 cheytac brass seems very consistent within the batch but does differ from an earlier batch (this was pre production samples might have been a test batch before finalising dimensions) in terms of neck thickness and overall weight. March scopes and Spud I think were also on the waiting list but unsure what calibres or quantity they have got hold of Bernie Montana aka EPA manufacturing may also have some in the bigger calibres Regards

Rgds Paul Thats just weird to split Lap 260 necks after so few reloads.....I easily get 15 reloads and run fairly warm N560 loads.....I would investigate either your batch of brass or reload practice....no insult intended!
