Stiller 7mm Rem Mag

Recommended Posts

Built this a month or so ago.

Stiller Predator repeater action

Pinned rail and recoil lug

Sassen 9 twist barrel - medium Rem sporter profile

Barrel and bottom metal ceracoated to match the Stiller action

Set into Bell and Carlson Medalist (which is being changed to a Mcmillan Hunter)

Reports from the owner is that its shooting sub half minute with factory ammo

The rifle is very light and was specifically for all day open ground use.

Thanks Andy, you've produced a great rifle for me and it continues to shoot well although the load I'm using is a 162 A-Max/H4831 combo rather than a factory load.

I'm expecting to be passing at the end of this month or during the first week of May at the latest to collect the McHunter. I hope to be in touch soon to arrange.

Kind regards,

Tim

Hi Tim

A lovely rifle

Any chance you could share the load data on the 162/h4831 as Andy has just rebarreled my RM so almost certainly the same reamer and I have always used 4831,though with 162 SST. Of particular interest would be where/if you encountered pressure signs.

Just gives me a starting point

Cheers

Simon

4Simon,

At the moment, I'm using the remnants of the ammunition that I had loaded up for my previous factory Remmy which by chance seems to shoot well in this Stiller. It's a top load of 64 grns with the bullet 30 thou off.

I'll post some more photos of my rifle once we get into May when I've got the McHunter bolted on.

Good luck,

Tim

Well, it's taken a while but here are some photos of the finished article dropped into my McSwirley.  (That's providing that I've managed to work out how to post the photo links.  Hopefully they'll work.)

Thanks again Andy for building a great tool.  It's a half MOA performer with the right load.

Kind regards,

Tim
