Kestrel weather vane

Hi looking to mount a Bluetooth Weather flow wind meter to a tripod,looking to know if any of you use a alternative to the Kestrel Weather vane, or a homemade one as the Kestrel is £60 I'm looking for a cheaper alternative.

Hi , This is how I've setup mine . The weather flow works well on It's own if your only shooting in a narrow arc otherwise it needs to keep being told where 12 o'clock is . I mounted mine on a small wind indicator via two camera screw fittings and superglue . Just make sure that before you glue the wind meter Its facing the right way by the time its at the end of the thread . I used a 1/4 unc die on the wind indicator's center which wasn't great but it gave the adaptor a start . Whilst my setup won't take serious knocks it works well and is ultra sensitive to the slightest direction changes .

I don't use a tripod , I use a Fishing rod rest with buzz bar and a cluelite handle that i can attach to a cheap camera monopod with a ground spike or it attaches to the cluelite ball fitting which i have mounted on the truck roof .

I have just bought a Weatherflow and am looking for vane and tripod ideas.
