branb
Where is the best place to source a replacement barrel for Rem 17 ? In Stainless in Light Varmint Profile.
srvet
Lothar Walther do them but I don't know about GB barrels or Sassen. Brownells U.K. Might be worth a look
gbal
Border Barrels do-google them. Border-Barrels.com...Adam and Lewis now located in Birmingham. Lilja was at one time the major US maker: not all do them (Krieger eg do .20,but not 17..?). If it's for a Remington 700,GMK should be able to advise on factory replacement option. gbal
branb
Yes its for a Remington 700 but prefer to stay away from a factory barrel if possible
srvet
It looks like Shilen Pac nor and Lilja do .172 barrels but benchmark, Brux Hart and Krieger do not.
Big Al
Yes its for a Remington 700 but prefer to stay away from a factory barrel if possible You then need to speak to a rifle builder to supply and fit a barrel. Border/Sassen make .172 but dont sell retail, there will be other .172 barrel blanks in the UK but you need someone to fit/proof it.
17 Rem
Dasherman usually has 17 calibre barrels in stock.
The_Dogge
I believe I have a Pac-Nor fitted by Dasherman on my 17Rem (not 100% as it was second hand), it shoots extremely well. Some info which may be of use on this thread http://ukvarminting.com/forums/topic/17236-pac-nor-barrels/
JB1
I've not long had one fitted to a Sako s491 action. It's a Sassen SS absolutely no copper fouling and shoots 0.3 with 20 Vmax and cfe223. If the lack of copper is anything to go by I have to recommend the Sassen. JB1
Steve kershaw did a 17 rem re barrel for me and used a sassen. Extremely low copper fouling if any ! And very accurate with 20gr vmax. Just make sure you can get the brass.
