Sako TRG 22/42 and Sphur TRG Mounts

Recommended Posts

After asking questions on a few posts on the Facebook TRG group, I still haven't had any replies...

Does anyone have a TRG22 or 42, with a Sightron SV 10-50x60 with Sphur TRG mounts, and does the 35mm mount give clearance between the barrel and scope?

ST-4701 34 mm Tube

7 MIL/24 MOA

Height:35 mm/1,38"

Length:121 mm/4,76"

Only looking for replies from people with this setup. 35mm mounts are available, but unsure of clearance, the 44mm's have been out of stock for over 6 months... the gap could be 9mm plus my guesstimated 3mm clearance of the 35mm?

I have asked this question of the RFD who spoke with Sphur and they could comment on the 35mm, so recommended the 44mm to be safe, but personally would like it close to the barrel.

I can't be the only one on here with this combo.

Thanks

You most certainly could be the only person with that combo. I am willing to bet you could count the number of TRG owners with spuhr dovetail mounts on one hand. The likelihood of having the same scope is slim.

Good choice in mount though. I will be following suit for my TRG.

or any other direct Sphur mount with a 34mm tube and objective lens scope outer dimension of 69mm.

I've had a 44mm mount on order since April 2016 when I ordered my TRG.

I completed an online contact form but heard nothing, but that was more to enquire when the 44mm scopes will be in stock.

What's worse with my initial order of April is that the pound to the euro has nose dived and could equate to a £50 increase....

I'll speak with Sporting Services tomorrow and may just order the 35mm based on pictures posted by a Facebook TRG member which I've e-mailed for Sphur to advise it is the 35mm high Mounts. There is no on-line email address to send pictures, etc.

Hi

It will likely be no problem.

I have never used the SIghtron but Steiner, Schmidt & Bender and Kahles 56mm scopes.
Here is the ST-4701 on a Tikka T3 Sporter.

Thanks all. I e-mailed Sporting Services with the below pictures of a TRG Facebook member, and Sphur through them have confirmed the mounts are indeed 35mm. But couldn't confirm the MOA model.

It's just unfortunate that my initial request to the owner of this set-up went unaswered.

Now just looking forward to the mounts arriving in time for the TRG collection at the end of the month.

Excuse my caffeine, but, FFS, the post preceding yours was an answer from Hakan himself.

I hadn't spotted this unfortunately, so apologies. At least this thread will serve to confirm clearance for anyone else venturing down the same path and combo.

The Author of the posted pictures has confirmed the following:

'ST-4701 I have, the 34mm. I have 6mm left between the lense and the barrell' this was after reposting this week having previously asked the question on the post of the three pictures and a personal message politely asking.

Thanks everyone who's taken the time to read & reply, just wanted a little more confidence than 'it will likely be no problem' as the retailer having a special order wouldn't replace it for the 44mm FOC if it didnt fit.
