17 hornet loads

Hi Finally got round to running in my CZ 17 Hornet today , and after one shot clean for 5 rounds i noticed a strange mark about 5mm up from the case heads, It looks/and feels like a small bump where the case has not gone far enough into the Barrel ?.

Ill put some pics of the case`s on later, cant say they would take another load ( These are new once fired factory rounds 20gr Vmax ).

Stripped scope of as its away back to main dealers tomorrow ( Gutted ) .Any ideas from you gents.

It's not a great pic... but looks a bit suspicious.

Are you familiar with pressure signs?

How does the primer look?

What load are you using?

Where did the brass come from (presumably someone else, given that it is once fired and you are running-in) and if it was resized by you, how much did you set the shoulders back?

Put a short 90 degree bend on the end of a paper clip and feel inside the case up near head. Might be able to feel a groove indicating stretched case. This sometimes shows on the outside as a shiny mark, as in your pic.

This happens before case head separation.

Ken.
