Ballistic Hamster Posted October 26, 2016 Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 Hi thinking of getting built a long range rig in 7mm not too heavy maybe for stalking , has anyone used the Berger 195 bullets in 7mm and anyone tried the 28 Nosler cases Looking to put them in a 7mm and using the 28 Nosler case when available or find a parent case not a belted case that would push them past 3000fps , not for target or string shooting , more towards long range , Don't want info from reference books ! would be interested in someone who had shot them or a good long range 7mm case and bullet with good ballistics past 2k well hoping it can be done Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Elwood Posted October 26, 2016 Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 It can be done. There's quite a bit written about it in the US using the 28 Nosler and the 195's. Powder of choice is Reloader 33 or Retumbo. Velocities mentioned are up to and including 3200fps, and with the BC of the 195 that's a serious combination. Ryan Pierce in the US is the man you want to talk to. I know you didn't want any reference but you will be sitting here a long time waiting for someone to post actual experience.
