No further information at present - looks like it uses TRG mags which is hardly surprising.

Looks like a cut n shut, tikka would hardly do promo pics on the carpet of a students flat!

Come on then - cut and shut what?

Let's have an expert opinion ... ... ...

American grip, American fore end....destined for the states, and probably at a price to compete with the Ruger.

The TRG mag will be its Achilles heel, if thats what it is.

I think that picture originated from Highlandsniper58

If anyone knows him he might be able to shed some light on the rifle.

I would love to know where that chassis came from.

I know him fairly well img.gif

Clearly so as I started the topic. I know absolutely nothing about the rifle - the photo came from a Finnish company who displayed the photo on FaceySpaceyBook yesterday.

Tikka T3 rifles are extremely popular in the US, where I'm guessing this will sell well and I'm sure the US is what this is intended for primarily.

This might reassure the naysayers, picture on a Sako stand at the Eurosatory defence show, and remarkably similar carpeting in the background.

If they can get the price point right and offer a .223 in addition to .308 then i'm sure people, will not hesitate to buy a Tikka branded weapon possibly over the Ruger. Ruger will always have the jump on the competition - but not with .223 if others react now.

Is that 'air soft'? :D:D:D

UN Space Corp.................."Space 1999". :D Sorry DW, didn't mean to hijack your thread ;)

I do like SOME black rifles, but in the main I find most of them to be a bit plasticy . I have the Tikka T3 hunter in .243Win with the wooden furniture, so when I see something like that new T3 I tend to get a bit sceptical as to its use as anything other than a fun-gun.

BUT!!!! If people like those guns then I certainly have no problem with it. I have no time for shooters who can only see their own sport and would see others have their's taken off them because it isn't PC enough.

I can only hope that Tikka can sell the chassis only, to its customers.

At present the chassis that is currently available for the Tikka is the Whiskey 3 from the US.

Unfortunately demand is outstripping supply.

Tikka’s have always been popular here in Australia.

That rifle will sell like hot cakes down here. :)

As you say, if sold as an add-on it will sell well despite the following already being available for the Tikka T3 ... ... ...

  • KRG Whiskey 3
  • KRG X-Ray
  • GRS Bolthhorn
  • MDT Tac21
  • MDT LSS
  • MDT HS3
  • XLR Element
  • XLR Evolution
  • XRL Carbon
  • Tier-One Evo
  • Cadex
There are probably others as well

That fore end requires some form of barrel nut to attach to.

A std tikka doesn't have one, and I'm betting the rifle above, does.

It can be done during a re barrel, but it would need some form of ingenuity to offer it as an aftermarket stock/part.
