The_Dogge
On android I use "maps ruler lite" which works well if you don't have a rangefinder handy.
andybrock
I use "Planimeter GPS area measure" on IOS for measuring distance and finding out the size of fields etc, seems pretty accurate.
1066
If you go to Google maps, find what you want to measure, select satelite image, right click on the map you will find a box that says "measure distance" I find it easy and correct within inches. However if you like your ranges in yards that doesn't work well, unit choices are just miles (which shows yards up to ~0.1 miles) or Km, which shows m. Google maps on my android phone and android tablet show distance and elevation in feet up to 528ft then switches to 10th mile.
activeviii
I use map measure for andriod. did a test a couple weeks back and it was one yard out on a known measurement of 400 yards so it works. a lot slower than a range finder though but still handy when your shooting buddy leaves the range finder at home
