AIlswell
I hear Samsonite are good - any thoughts?
Finman
I've had this particular model for 8 years...so what you may say? Well, I must have travelled around 200 times since I've bought it, in 5 continents....indestructible. Well worth the expense. Finman
AIlswell
Interesting, Finman...doesn't all the closed cell foam get in the way of your smalls?
Finman
Nope, I travel light
AIlswell
That's the best way to travel Finman. You have very good taste in cases - I very much like the built in security lock on this model too....
Finman
In all seriousness, I've had this bag in trips to SA, NZ, Brazil, UAE, multiple EU destinations, flight upon flight upon flight, trains, ships, automobiles, and nothing has ever gone wrong with it. Never had I anything broken in it, and I've taken Spode salad bowls to SA, bottles of wine, olive oil, honey...never a problem. Never seen this model, did you make it yourself? AIlswell
That is some seriously valuable cargo you have had in the Samsonite Finman. I think the best thing about this model is that you know you can squeeze in all the bare essentials if required.....
Finman
You want tough ? not very stylish admittedly https://peliproducts.co.uk/products/cases.html?gclid=CP38m6SVvMwCFcsW0wodrr0FIg I have two, pretty much in the same configuration Allswell has his samsonite. Good when transporting rifles, not good when 20kg is all the weight allowed in cargo...and, I lied: I don't travel light
Shuggy
I used Samsonite for years and they certainly are indestructable. But they are heavy and being rigid, quite difficult to pack into hire cars and storage cupboards etc. We have now converted entirely to Antler soft cases and not regretted it one bit.
