rem 700 stainless action ?

Mine is a bead blasted stainless action. All the stainless ones I've seen are genuine stainless.

If it was like that from new it must be stainless as I don't think remington made rifles with any type of grey coating on them.

Have you any pics ?

Stainless or polished steel?

 

There's a couple of models with the polished action from the current range, SPS stainless & VTR SS both .223 models

This 'alloy' of which you speak: what is it ? Most metals in common use are alloys.

 

Steel is an alloy of iron.

 

Did you mean 'aluminium' ?

 

Aluminium is a pure metal.

 

Unless it has been alloyed, in which case, it will be something like 7075, 2019, 6082. It matters.
