phaedra1106uk
You can't tell a case is correctly annealed by the colour of the brass, yes it's an indication but it varies too much between makes, batches and even the cleanliness of the case being annealed. Tempilaq is a much more accurate indicator, I also use the 650F (Yellow) in much the same place, starting about 1/8" below the shoulder, this (from the testing I have done) changes colour when the neck reaches 700f-750f
TBC15
Rats does that mean I’ve bought the wrong higher temp one?
phaedra1106uk
If you have the 750F green labelled bottle then no, it's fine, just use it on the neck above the shoulder area. Best place is a dab on the inside of the case neck so it's not directly exposed to the flame. You'll have to run a wire cleaning brush (using a drill is the easiest) inside the neck afterwards as it's a bit of a monkey to get off when it's baked on
TBC15
The lower temp one set down from the shoulder would seem to be the way to go.

Do I need a new plate? Gracias desde España... The .284 has 12.72 base diameter which means you will need another disc. The Gun Pimp
OK Nick - just make sure the outside of the neck is nice and clean. It will take you about 5 mins to do a box of 50. Vince
