Understanding Minute-of-Angle

So I've always been an MOA shooter since I came from a sling and jacket style shooting background where the majority of rifles are old English, or RPA/Swing/Paramount style with English sights on them. Some of you guys might have never been interested in MOA, or would like to know a little bit more.

Hopefully this is an easy to understand guide to understanding MOA.

Read this on your blog from another source. It's a great explanation of minutes if angle for those who don't understand it and a good refresher to for those who do. Nice one Ste.

Nicely summarised. Had the same issue when I started shooting a few years ago. It would have been nice to read this article then :)

Just bear in mind that of you happen to be shooting at steep angles on to a vertical target / plate, the 1MOA is larger than 1.047 inches on the face of the target. Because of the angle of incidence.

I've come to realise that shooting is all about time and angles. And that having a scope with a MILLIRADIANS reticle, and MOA turrets, is a royal pain in the ????

So why do the majority of scope manufacturers do it?
