Recommended Posts

After removing the firing pin assembly from my model s barnard bolt by hand so i can get measurement to Lands when closing bolt however after reassembling the bolt seems to feel much stiffer upon extraction also the primer strike pressure seems to have greatly increased would appreciate any info with assembly with bolt, thanks.

The firing pin spring controls strike and cocking force, not sure how it's so different after stripping, just done mine and re assembled, no different.

I'd recheck everything is assembled correctly, although it is a simple strip.

Do the barnards not have an adjustable firing pin strike depth? You havent changed this while stripping and reassembling have you? Im not 100% familliar with dissassembly/rebuild of them, but I have shot a club mates and recall him having similar trouble one day, that he put down to firing pin depth/spring tension.
