The Gun Pimp
Just seen that Savage have introduced their answer to Ruger's tactical rifle at Shot Show Range Day. It uses an AR style butt and grip and an all-metal chassis but the action looks standard Savage - which is no bad thing - but will be 'factory blueprinted'. First chamberings will be 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. See 6mmBR.com for more details and pics.
Laurie
Looks good - we'll have to see the full spec though. I wondered if Savage would respond to the RPR - they seemed to have been caught out there.
Shuggy
It's basically the same as the MDT LSS chassis, so not really much different from what Mossberg have already done with the MVP. I would argue that it's nowhere near as innovative as the Ruger.
The Gun Pimp
I agree - but it's a step in the right direction for those who are looking for a modestly priced factory rifle with all the whistles & bells....... Interesting to see what it sells for - might get Remington thinking.
Andrew
I think Ruger caught everyone a little flat footed with their RPR by tapping a market that no one had hit upon yet. It's no surprise that Savage has stepped up to the plate.~Andrew
