Thanks for your remarks DaddyPig the machine is now running motors fitted just waiting to finish the wheels I have made these out of alloy so they will not burn unlike the ANNEALEEZ my biggest problem is trying to build the machine and keep it in a sensible price range getting hold of parts in this country is not easy and some are expensive a flexi hose alone for a CGA 600 fitting for Mapp gas bottle is £45 so still looking and making changes to design without cutting corners when the machine is finally finished I will be making them to order I will take it up to diggle ranges on display and try to post a video on here so members can have a look thanks.

Gunnery,

Looks interesting, keep at it, it would be great to have a British built option.

Can I ask what the two potentiometers are for, I understood that the two wheels on other models were geared together so that speed control was only necessary on the primary.

Hi Ballistol I decided to make my machine so you have control over each wheel as regards speed and timing again taking cost into account it is more expensive but I think better to have control over each wheel thanks

to be honest Danny I am still looking into the cost side of things because when you are developing the cost runs away with you with buying from the wrong place or wrong size of motor etc so at present I have bought things I don't need or want to use I would think I would be around the annealeez

kind of price but to early to state a definite price just yet but thanks for asking.

Not bad from a lad from wigan ;)

the one you "will" make for me will have to be gold plated encrusted with diamonds ;)

to be honest that is a very good job Baz- well done.

thanks Gibbo thanks Gazza taking a bit longer than I had planned but trying to find the right components in England takes time but getting there my hardest task is trying to keep the price realistic due to building British instead of going abroad for components as you can imagine components in this country more expensive than china but once I have made contact with companies over here should be more reliable and shorter deliverery times keep watching this space thanks

Good luck to you "Gunnery". The price of the ones on the commercial market at the moment are just laughable! Total "pie in the sky" prices.... Going by the ones made and listed on You-Tube, there from the very heath robinson type, to others showing promise...

Of course there will always be either, "Mugs" out there, Or those with bigger pockets than sense, that buy something only slightly better than some of the DIY versions on You-Tube..

I'm still waiting for a company to produce a model in the middle of the road.... :)

Forum members and all

There have been various comments made on this thread and associated threads about members showing interest in or purchasing affordable annealing machines from overseas suppliers.

The first "recent thread" was posted on 13 January 2013 and titled "UK source for annealing machine " It ran until 22 June 2013 for a total of 50 threads and evoked comments and suggestions from knowledgeable members, but no UK product was advertised as available. 4 more posts were added in August 2015 but again no UK product was mentioned as available.

On 7 August 2015 the USA made "Annealeezee Machine" thread was posted and a total of 114 replies are listed, with 100 being recorded up to and inclusive to 22 August 2015. A further 14 posts are shown up to date. The main topic was the suggestion of a possible group buy for a machine.

A third thread was also started on 22 August 2015 entitled "UK Annealing Machine" which indicated the possible manufacture and availability of a UK produced annealing machine. A total of 18 posts were made, up to 6 September 2015, but no product details, price or launch date on the subject has been quoted, but in my opinion it was clear there was a huge interest shown by forum members to purchase such a machine.

Specialised import legislation advice was posted explaining why USA manufactured machines are not able to be legitimately exported but some forum members, including myself, have taken a punt and successfully ordered and received a "Annealeezee" machine.

Without trying to provoke any any argument or bad feeling I would just like to point out that in my opinion there was no alternative UK machine available that was able to indicate the current price, delivery timescale or any product details.

I am very pleased with my "Annealeezee" machine but would have considered purchasing a UK produced product if it existed and was available.

Good luck gunnery with your machine, I hope you can crack the UK market, at least you now know the competition and financial market factors.

cheers

froggy.

Thank you froggy for your comments I have no intentions of trying to crack the UK market as regards vast marketing campaigns I am just a one man band who is trying to say to members who want to buy British Here you are there is a machine available if you so wish to have one I started out mainly with intention of just making one for myself the idea behind what I am trying to do is make a good solid UK made machine WITH PARTS that can be purchased within the UK. I could make a few for members on here and at my Local range but to put the record straight from the start I am not trying to be bigger or better or even trying to compete with anyone out there reading this thread if members want to purchase one when ready that is entirely up to them I will keep members informed when the unit is up and running thanks

I would like to echo [barrys] GUNNERYS comments having spoken to him at length about his project he is doing this more as a labour of love rather than trying to crack the market,i have asked him to build me one when he has the time as his full time job keeps him busy enough.he even told me more or less the cost of all the parts and the possible end price let me say he wont be a millionaire any time soon.

fair play to him for having the balls to have a go ;)

Hi all just a update to let you all know the machine is coming along well I should be able to show you all some pictures and hope I can do a home made video to show the machine running and working by the end of this month not been easy to find the parts at right cost took longer than I had planned but I can say I have now found some good suppliers who will be reliable to deal with in the future the machine will be made to order and I can only do a few at a time but keep watching this space thanks.
