Laurie
It's a good bullet, but has never caught on with top FTR shooters whilst it was for a time at least popular amongst the Match Rifle people. In both cases, Bergers are more popular. It's a VLD, and few 308 aficionados are VLD fans. The 210gn Berger BT has the same BC, marginally higher even, but is easier to tune. Also, the SMK has a long bearing surface which increases in-barrel friction and reduces ultimate potential MV all other things being equal. Its bearing surface length is 0.541" v 0.481 for the Berger BT, 0.450 for the 200gn Berger Hybrid. (It is shorter than that of the 210gn Berger 210 VLD and about the same as the 208gn A-Max). You'd have to ask Sierra about the price. They'll shoot OK in a 1 in 11-inch twist rate. (Sierra says tighter, but it always quotes a one-inch faster rate than the makers of equivalent products.) In actual fact though, 1-10" performs so well with everything from 155s to the heavy Berger Hybrids, it's become the twist rate for everything these days for most FTR shooters.
