Is it a pub/whore house/or something else? I keep on hearing the term but can someone explain please. Cheers, Les

Cheers, Les It's from 'Ronin' - a great film! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fh_RmcoYayM Since then, it's become something of a metaphor for 'Walter Mitty wannabe SAS types'! gbal
As Shuggy-despite de Niro's pronunciation, the town is Hereford, allegedly near SAS 'HQ',so any genuine SAS member would know of the boat house there (and it's colour),so an imposter -Sean Bean (who is really Lt Sharpe,as any UK tv military afficionado knows) might be exposed if he didn't know the answer. Les,you ought to stay in more! gbal
That bald headed Geordie
I have some spare paint that I purchased in Hereford (I was just passing through honest ), and it could have been used to paint the 'boathouse'. It has a nato stock number on it so I think that I know the colour :D . Did I tell you that my middle name is Walter by the way!!! .. ..-. -.-- --- ..- -... . .-.. . .. ...- . - .... .- - -.-- --- ..- .-- .. .-.. .-.. -... . .-.. .. . ...- . .- -. -.-- - .... .. -. --. Shuggy
That clip doesn't actually show the best bit of the scene. Afterwards someone asks the De Niro character "So what is the colour of the boathouse at Hereford?" His answer: "How the f*#k should I know?" Now that I think about it, absolutely the best thing about that film is Natasha McElhone - despite her dodgy Irish accent. What a beautiful woman! Of course, none of this has anything whatsoever to do with Bradders' fine rifles!
