Hi All

Today was the first league shoot for the 2014 100 yard benchrest season.

With the UK team for the upcoming European championship has just been chosen, so it is now time to fine tune our skills.

It was great to see some new faces making an appearance and also some of the sporter shooters from last year having built full benchrest rifles for this year.

The weather was typical of Diggle....... a mixture, we had some sun, some wind and some rain!

Everybody had new toys to play with after the off season, Sinclair Competition rests seem to have been breeding over the winter too, so it is getting a bit confusing as to who's rest is who's.

Many thanks to Mark Ellis of 1967Spud for bringing a selection of Sinclair benchrest items for people to buy at very reasonable prices, this is a great help to be able to get this items without having to pay lots of shipping on a single small item that you just need.

Ok, to the results, a link to the full results is below, but here is a summary......

Heavy Varmint

1. Bruce Lenton - 0.2386" (average of 5 x 5 shot groups)

2. Gary Stewart - 0.2718"

3. Ian Dixon - 0.2886"

Small Group - Bruce Lenton - 0.125"

So a great day was had by all, and for next time the UKBRA are investing in club wind flags and we will be operating a "2 bench rotation" as per other overseas shoots, this will make the competition fairer and help to prepare those travelling overseas, where rotation is normal.

The next shoot is on Saturday 3rd of May at Diggle, so please come along and join in, be there by 10am for signing on.

All the best

Bruce
