ChrisF
So , for me its mainly the double feed 10rd AW mag thats the real important thing for me , and with that the smooth & reliable manner in which the rifle operates . The other points are the 4 bolts that hold the action to the alloy chassis , instead of 2 , and the integral recoil lug , which does not move on barrel swaps . taffy
I have had an AIAW for quite some time. I have a number of different calibre barrels, 6.5x47, 30x284 and the obvious 308. Every barrel change is simple and quick. You don't need an action spanner, just a big f-off adj.spanner and a some stout leather patches to put over the action, and a good barrel vice. The accuracy is consistant. I hasten to add that the barrels are Kriegers and smithed by PRS LTD. This is a rifle that I have total faith in. Tough, some would say ugly, but very dependable. The AE is cheaper but not as 'ard!'. I love my Bat's but the AW is my go to rifle. You will regret not going the extra, it's all in the top 3" but that's where it counts. Good luck!
