6.5x284 Long Bunger

Just finishing off a build for a customer who wants to shoot deer at up to 500 yards and some LR plinking.

.264 Win Mag was his original choice, but after some discussion he has gone for the 6.5x284

I know Mark, it's not my place to comment in its intended use, but I'm seriously glad he didn't go .264 Win mag, as all the brass etc is just toilet!

Get your man to use 130 TSX and he will be able to utilise the 284's full potential...

Thanks for the suggestion, but Barnes are not an option.

No problem,

 

ive never had an animal walk more than a few steps when hit with a TSX and they do minimal damage no matter how close they are when the trigger is pulled.

 

Accuracy is on a par with match bullets, the BC isnt amazing, but so what.

 

My data...

 

52g H 4831SC seated .050" off the lands, accuracy in low .3's and 2900 ish fps

 

Works on Roe, Fallow and Reds
