More Bunnie Bashing

Went out with Varminter the other night on some of his land in pursuit of some long range Bunnie bashing.

Had a nice head shot on this one at 245yards with my 6MM BR and 95 grain Berger. This one was shot off the roof of my 4x4.

Using Caldwell bags filled with sand gave a very stable shooting position,

As a token of good will we offered this rabbit to a neighbour of one of the farms we shoot on, he was most pleased with the gift and said he would cook it for his old dad who dearly loves a rabbit or two.

This was the next shooting position on another farm. This time the shot was about 255 yards using Varminters 6ppc and 58vmax. I used his rifle for this shot as it is moderated and we did not want to wake up the farmer as he had been milking the cows all afternoon and was now in bed .************

the result ,one pre paunched bunnie.!!

Just started to put the .204 to good use

Got permission on a small farm thats alive with rabbits, from his yard we can look down into a basin thats about 200yds across, its perfect for just waiting for bunnies to appear.

My best shot yet is 260 yds, I've got to start going for headshots now though as you need a rake to collect the bits after the 204 connects!

I agree head shots are the only way if you want to shoot them for the table. But in all honesty if we are collecting meat, then out with the rimmy it is.

I have got a few 58 vmax left which i am going to try in the 6 mmbr, but i think they will vapourise on exiting the muzzle

68 MEF work very well indeed and i feel that is as light as i can go pushing them this hard.

Good shooting with the 204 mate, its very testing beyond 250 yards too.

Nice Shootin there!!!

Wish we had bunnies in the numbers you guys do...

Same for the foxes too...

Only thing we can hunt/shoot year round are coyotes...

and they are pretty gunshy too..Dont see them much but

ya hear them more then see them.

We cant shoot much at night here either...cept for maybe 'coons

and ya can only use a light at the point of kill, cant use to spot.

Remember that this is just for the State of Wisconsin...

It may be very differant in say...South Dakota,Texas,Georgia.

In Milwaukee County..States a further divided up by counties...

You cant hunt/shoot anything....air rifles,bows,crossbows are all

a big no-no...In your basement is one thing...in your own backyard

is totally another....and if seen shooting in your back yard and the

police are brought in,you will lose the weapon and get fined(s)

Can use a light at the point of kill while shooting coyotes at night.
