cloverleaf
Hi Guys, just bought a mc viper 4-16x50 to use mainly with a archer for nv, but would like to make use of the ballistic turrets. The ammmo i use is 17gr hornaday v-max which has a m v of 2550 fps and will be zeroed at 80 m. The only slight problem i have is that the click values are 1 click = 1/8" at 100yards. Do any of you guys have a ballistic program that will do this? or is it a simple job of walk the target out and alter the clicks accordingly. Cheers, Cloverleaf
happyhunter
Hi cloverleaf. Jbm ballistics should give you good drop/windage charts for what you want then test them in the field on targets to be 100% sure. Far easier to work in moa not clicks for dialling in. Learn the various points of impact in relation to the reticule out to the ranges you want to shoot especially for shooting at night as you'll have enough to think about never mind dialling the scope in and if your using nv you'll betray your presence if you put a lamp on to range a target far better to hold over. Zero the scope for a range that allows you to point and shoot out to a sensible range is even simpler. Not sure what vermin your after but for fox 25grn hollow points will have better penetration/stopping power especially at certain angles. Hope this helps.
