  1. Hello im looking for Sako trg 42 Cheek rest risers and stock spacers please ideally 6mm worth of cheek risers and 15-20mm of stock spacers Many Thanks Rob
  2. For sale is my extremely unused Sako 85 Hunter in 6.5x55. I bought this rifle in August 2008 and to date the round count is below 160. Because of this lack of use I've decided it would be better to sell on to someone that would use it as I feel its a waste to have it sat in the cabinet doing nothing. The reason for purchasing the rifle originally was as a stalking rifle but it has never been anywhere other than my local range so is in very good condition as can be seen in the photo. The only blemish on the rifle is some light scuffs on the stock near the heal which can be seen in the picture, I think this was from either another rifle being taken out or put back at the side of it. Once I spotted this I bought gun socks for all my rifles and it has been kept in one ever since. The package consists of:- - Sako 85 Hunter R/H chambered in 6.5x55 - T8 moderator threaded in M14 - Sako Optiloc rings and bases. - Leupold VXL 3-10X56 Scope with a boon and crocket reticule, which matches the trajectory of both 156gn sako and 140 federal ammo very well out to 300yds which is the furthest I've shot it. - I have 80 rnds of PPU FMJ 139gn ammo as well which will be included, this was bought to use on range but I've only fired 20 of the 100 I bought. - 100 Once fired sako cases if I can find them. I am looking for £1700 ono for everything. I don't want to split the whole package but may split the scope and rifle. If the rife goes then the moderator and ammo will go as well though so it can all come off my license. I'm not in a desperate hurry to sell so no stupid offers please. Thanks, Sean.

  4. I would like to consult the forum wisdom for selecting a riflescope for deer stalking. Any help, pointers or suggestions to avoid are all welcome as this is an area I have little knowledge in albeit a reasonable amount of rifle experience on plate and paper. The rifle I am using is a Sako M75 Varmint in a laminated stock in .308 Win. Its been crewcut and bedded and a Picatinny rail installed to avoid the Optilock system. I know the rifle is a bit heavy for the hill but it shoots very well and its what I took my first red with 10+ years ago with it so I don't want to change and the rifle is like new and IMHO the M75 appears more solid than the 85 and I like the look of the stock thats on mine. The scope that was on it has been long gone (it was a leopold Euro 4-10x40 if I remember correctly. Any suggestions on what I should scope it with? I am thinking about the S&B 8x56 potentially as I have had great experiences with the brand in both work and private use but I'm open to suggestions. I am mindful of not making the overall height to great so I can get a decent cheek weld on the stock. The budget is £5-600 but this can be flexible but don't want to get to daft as I don't use the rifle much. I prefer cm/mil rad and ideally turrets that I can dial in but that seems to up the cost a bit. Hopefully I can get this set up over the summer and see if I can get some guided stalking in this year. The questions are: 1. What reticule / or what to avoid. 2. Scope model suggestions, especially in light of the constraints of the rifle set up. 3. Is illuminated reticule worth the extra for stalking and a lot of people seem to use fixed mag scopes, not sure why as it seems potentially limiting but its not my area of expertise. Thank you for your shared wisdom. Morse
  5. Match .22 Barrel

Hi, Looking to throw together an accurate .22 for field, target and as an heirloom really! Would love to find a match chambered .22 LR barrel available - whether drop in or otherwise. Thanks!
  6. I need to test these out to longer ranges, but thought would post the results of my to go to loads having done the OCW process. Unfortunately, I haven't shot the .260 since conducting the OCW with the 200 & 600 yard shoot last week being cancelled due to fog. The higher charge loads opened up beyond the two loads as below, so won't be pursuing these..
  7. Sako

I see plenty written about Tikka and generally everyone agrees they make bloody good rifles , I dont see many posts on Sako factory rifles , be it varmint or stalking , so whys that? too expensive ? Tikka just as good ?.
  8. After asking questions on a few posts on the Facebook TRG group, I still haven't had any replies... Does anyone have a TRG22 or 42, with a Sightron SV 10-50x60 with Sphur TRG mounts, and does the 35mm mount give clearance between the barrel and scope? ST-4701 34 mm Tube 7 MIL/24 MOA Height:35 mm/1,38" Length:121 mm/4,76" Only looking for replies from people with this setup. 35mm mounts are available, but unsure of clearance, the 44mm's have been out of stock for over 6 months... the gap could be 9mm plus my guesstimated 3mm clearance of the 35mm? I have asked this question of the RFD who spoke with Sphur and they could comment on the 35mm, so recommended the 44mm to be safe, but personally would like it close to the barrel. I can't be the only one on here with this combo. Thanks

  11. Hi all, I'm having a bit of a clear out and I've decided to part with my TRG. I just don't use it enough and would love someone else to have some enjoyment with it. Load development has been done using the 175grn sierra TMK's which I will gladly supply with the rifle. I also have some factory ammo, a load of my homeloads, a lot of brass, CCI primers and all my dies etc which will be included if the new owner wants. It is in black with TRG muzzle brake and TRG bipod, sako one piece quick release mount and is topped with a leupold mk4 8.5-25x50 LR/T illuminated scope. It is in very good condition and round count is less than 400. I would consider selling the scope separately, but would rather not until the rifle has sold. Price is £3600 ono. If you would like any more info or any pictures please don't hesitate to PM me. Location is Derbyshire. Also advertised elsewhere. Many Thanks Matt
  12. Anyone know where I can get one of these in the UK? All suppliers online appear to be in the States and with ITAR restrictions rules this out. I'm awaiting a call back from my RFD as there should be no reason Sako couldn't ship this with my rifle. I thought I'd ask on here for anyone else who has ventured down this route of sling fixing.

  17. I purchased my Sako Quad at the end of last year and recently had a problem inserting the bolt (no funny comments needed!), the RFD where it was purchased fixed the issue the first time it happened and a couple of week ago it happened again at the range (spoiled a day out): returned to the RFD and it has now been replaced under warranty (i.e. a complete new rifle). Other than the pain of a variation to allow me to receive the new rifle (exactly same type) from the RFD - the joys of UK firearms legislation!! As anyone else had any similar issues / problems with new rifles. I purchased a Sako in the belief that it was a quality product - this has soured the experience.
  18. SOLD Sako Finnfire Varmint (22 lr.) with a Sirocco SM-11 moderator. The rifle is accurate and in good condition. The moderator has only had about 200 shots through it. Price: £600 excluding P&P. I'm based in London and if we transfer in person I will include 350 rounds of Eley subsonic ammunition. They shoot very well in this rifle. Scope and rings not included. The rifle will be advertised elsewhere.
