  1. @Catch-22 Could you post a pic of the MPA action inlet (current) - intrigued to see if there are any witness marks showing on inlet or action base of the Inpact ,,,after several years of use in the chassis
  2. No the Rem clones and Rem 700 are never a perfect all contact fit in any chassis including AiCS and any chassis that is “inlet for specific action” One usually finds there is waterline contact along the length of the action on either side Appropriate skim bedding will address this though and provide stress free contact when action screws torqued
  3. 7/300 WSM if you want to go 7mm This cartridge has provenance in F Class to World Championship level and will get to a mile easily Though as Greg points out - spotting misses will be “problematic”
  4. A stunner One of the best F Class stocks, period Good luck with sale 👍🏻
  5. PRC is magnum bolt face The ATX is only available in .473” bolt face You would have to use an A X MC but the short action cartridge may have issues feeding in this magazine
  6. Walters Rifleman produce a specific magazine to feed this and other short stubby cases
  7. I did say it was relatively easy if you followed the drawings well done 👍🏻
  8. Barrel is easily changed with clamp and action wrench
  9. I get why buy one - new shiny kit Also own LabRadar - Whixh works for me and is pretty portable But then so is my Magnetospeed and Oehler 35p (though the latter a faf to set up in comparison) 👍🏻
  10. So the UK warrantied units are selling or likely to sell at £530 yet people are buying from the states at 500 and incurring import duties and vat to the tune of over 100 Non UK importer supplied units are not covered by warranty in this country and no doubt they will have serial number so easily verified Am I missing something as why it is sensible or even an intelligent option to buy outside the uk ?
  11. If you have the means then fly to Denver, hire car and head south to New Mexico and visit the Whittington Centre near Raton This is the NRA largest range and has hosted KO2M in the past I know you can hire weapons to use there May be worth exploring There are some places near Las Vegas that hire 50 cals but I’m not sure of how far one is able to shoot
  12. Vectronix have announced a release of two new models of LRF Bino Vector X and Radical X are the model names probably be the next must have on the firing line,,,,
  13. I do 😃 im, trying not to take work on because of that and balance out family , deer and target play rather than slaving at the wheel of death 24/7 plenty of folk now with a lathe starting up these days - only the dedicated will find me and get me to do work 😂😂 Also sourcing a suitable stock for the PChey is proving to be a bit of a quest - my main option is no longer available unfortunately (should have bought the chassis at the same time as the damn action) Manners, Dima and a spot in Oz that make chassis are on the list - Dima laminate looks most favourable this will now, no doubt be a 2025 evolution, though barrelled action will be done way before that. Not in a great rush as I’ve several big jobs on that are taking time at the mansion, which yet again is turning into a money pit 😂😂
  14. furniture changed but barrelled action looks familiar Andy 👍🏻
  15. Gents and ladies (depending how you identify) ,,,, Please see the link to the 2024 calendar for the UK Rifle Series competitions These will be all held at Gardners Guns near Carlisle using the ranges there or at their Eskdalemuir complex Highly recommend participating, there are many members of the site who help and compete with these comps which are held in a very friendly atmosphere - no egos or b s usually ans lots of people with experience to help anyone who hasn’t been before and wants to try it out You don’t “need” anything other than a willing countenance, a zeroed rifle and an idea of your ballistic data Come and have a go and enjoy yourselves : https://www.ukrifleseries.co.uk/

  17. Did a similar job recently on a 6.5 Creedmoor that a chap had built bt someone - original custom Brux barrel was re profiled and rechambered to 6.5/284 with some rectification work done to various bits omitted by the previous “skilled worker “ Rifle now shoots small groups and accounts for many “harder to reach” deer that barrel came off without any issue but factory barrels are quite another thing
  18. Thanks for explanation Ian - is it just finish reamer and no resize ?(who made it please)
  19. Easy job though I’d suggest moving the whole chamber .050” forwards to ensure the throat is freshened up The main issue you have is it’s on a T3 which can be notoriously difficult barrels to remove without undercutting the shoulder to relieve tension on the thread I’ve a 20 ton press and specific contour shells to hold barrels and still find tikka barrels hard to remove unscathed, which is why you have the reluctance of the people you’ve approached I suspect I guess it could be done with a custom made thin parting tool (fifteen mins to make on the DBit grinder) - so the undercut is as minimal as possible but you would likely lose .070” of the barrel shoulder in doing so No great issue there - though another factor for consideration is the time spent on the job would surmount to basically the work involved for a Rebarrel (therefore potentially 3-400 plus proof Afraid I don’t have the 22-250 improved reamer so can’t help 👍🏻
  20. Echo what others have posted - who are very experienced “effers” The standard when I dropped out of the league was a 1/4 Moa vertical dispersion at 1000 to be “competitive” The 6.5 class of cartridges are simply outclassed ballistically in F Open and not contenders in FTR 7 mm was the datum to be in it (180 hybrids being one of the more common bullets used and Senar L I guess tge 47 would be good as an “out to 600” rifle but I think you would be best served with a dedicated rifle to fully enjoy the sport without the frustration of being hamstrung from the offset
