Hi Onehole here,,,,yes I,m still around!!,,,,,,,,I also have recently bought a DS35 and found that i had to resort to using my glasses to get a clear reticule focus and agree with comments on here that the adjustment range is a little limited for us oldies. I hate wearing glasses to shoot and all of my normal scopes have sufficient range to compensate. I had a mad idea of somehow fixing a corrective lens to the Pard and with a little constructive though I went about making a delrin lens holder on my lathe to push onto the ocular of the pard and obtained a +2.5 33mm lens from a local glasses manufacturer{Most helpful Quinzy Eye products} put the lens into the holder which I made a tight fit and simply pushed this onto and over the Pard eyepiece. A little packing tape helped make it really secure and this worked an absolute treat giving ample range for adjustment and easily removable if necessary. An added bonus was that it gave an enlarged sight picture as well. There is no POI shift either no matter how much you adjust the ocular as it is purely aiding focus onto an existing image.Here are a couple of pics to better show what I had made.......

I have only used these on fox for a short time and although they produced good clean kills they do not appear to be as devastating as ballistic tips.

Yes,,its just that I am thinking tjhe OP is concerned about very small and fairly insignificant amount of error at 100mtr,,,,you could zero anywhere between 80 and 140 yds/mtrs and have almost a same "zero" given trajectory is in the region of only 1/2 in/15mm or so and pretty sure this guy will want to be dialling in far greater ranges and to establish zero or what one is assuming to be zero for following ballistics from 100 yd/mtr will not get you accurately out there[unless your lucky] without checking/adjusting at suggested 200yd/mtrs and beyond.Basic stuff really just wondering whether the poster was aware.

Zeroing at 100 yds or mtrs is ok for starters but trajectory way too flat at this distance to think you could follow ballistics further out. 200 is a better place to nail it.

Thanks!Yes,,barrel is now a kreiger 12 twist on that 6BR,, mod is now wildcat and stock has been carbon finished,,same scope,,,,,,,I 75vmax at 3250 and happy to use to 400 ish and be confident.Cant wait to get out again now,,,,,,O I see you like your fast twist 22,s,,,,,me too,,,and run 22ppc with 75 Amax,,,,pushing 3k.

Still here!!! I go back a long way probably to the very start of UK Varminting and over the years put quite a bit of content into the site.Still run mostly RPA 6BR and PPC,s.and many a rebarrel by Dasherman and Russ Gall.Don,t get out so much as I did for one reason or another, could be something to do with getting older I guess!? I,ve learnt a lot or rather as much as i need and hope I,ve helped a few on the journey.Here,s a pic from the past ,,I still have the rifle and scope and bag rests!! although that barrel on the RPA has long gone and the Vauxhall Frontera too!! Up for sale my Meopta as described above all in MOA SFP,,,,I bought this scope last October from Optics Warehouse and it is basically "as new" I mounted the scope only once and has only been sat in rings on a rifle which has sat in the cabinet since that date. Bought on a whim and looking for something different I really prefer my Nightforces so looking to sell.Bought for £1190 from memory so have to work back from there rather than normal retail so i think £775 posted is a very good bargain for someone. Think I would go for N130 up to 55g,s and pretty sure you will match the velocities 135 would give without having a real case full.{not that a case full isn,t a way to go though]

Thanks for sharing some hard facts with us Alan much appreciated and understood.A friend of mine has a rifle built by you and dies to suit where stunning and repeatable accuracy is a joy to watch but only on days when the shooter can match the potential himself.Those days come and go as we all know.Outside the world of true custom built toolery I think some of us struggle a little and conern here for overworking brass to which you have somewhat helped. Most of us are working with mass produced dies of varying quality and certainly dimensionally to that of our rifles chambers hence the need to very carefully take measurements and note whats happening to our brass..I run mostly factory rifles that have been rebarrelled over the years and generally have tight chambers etc but when it comes to bumping cases this is done in redding body dies and without doubt totally unrepresentative of the chamber the case was shot in! so apart from bumping a little am not always sure of what else may be on the move.However and as you say 90% is then down to the shooters control and generally works.......O

Here,s an old method I used to use to control repetative shoulder bumping.Get some shim steel cut out make shift washers of various thickness ie 4,6,8 and 10 thou suitably drilled to clear your case size.Place washer as shown in the picture and work the press.You will soon arrive at the desired amount of bump and just make note of what size shim was correct for future bumping,,,,easy. You do not have to position die anyway near over centre just far enough to work press easily.

Hi ,,,,Sorry not wish to be rude but I,m assuming you are actually measuring the amount of bumping your acheiving using a comparator of some design? In my experience bumping a couple of thou never seems like overworking to me and sometimes wonder if the case has moved at all given the ease of press leverage.Measurement confirms though.Also assuming you are lubing your cases during the process?,,,,O
