  1. Hey Black Rat, Out of curiosity, how much did you get for your chassis in the end, and what did you go for instead? All the best
  2. Hi everyone, I have got a chassis to sell. 1. Bergara BMP Chassis with a Bergara branded AICS compatible magazine (polymer, 5-rounder, .308/6.5CM): £300 including postage - Remington 700 S/A footprint - It is in good/used condition (I have included one pic to show an area of minor specs, where the paint has been chipped) - It is very adjustable (cheek piece height, length of pull, height/angle of the butt pad) - The pistol grip can be easily swapped out - Front sling swivel stud only - M-LOK slots in the 3, 9 and 6 o'clock positions on the forend - QD flush cups front and rear - Bag rider/rest is threaded (unknown thread)for some Pic rail - It happily accepted my action with aftermarket trigger fitted (specifically a TriggerTech unit) - plenty of room for a fat barrel (BMP comes with 21.2mm barrel)

  4. The Tac A1 is a nice rifle, can't go wrong with one! 20" tube will get the job done but a the 24" would be my choice. (Decent velocity gains) Especially seeing as the Tac has a folding stock that makes it more portable . 1:8 twist combined with Sierra 77-grain TMK's is a great combo. It's worth noting that spare tac A1 mags are hideously expensive
  5. A fairly easy conclusion for me, I managed to get around 40-50 rounds through the rifle, primarily made up of rapid 10-shot strings (342, 444 and 547 yards) and I managed to print some tidy groups on the steel. I left the range impressed, with a grin on my face. Effortless performance from a rifle that filled me to the brim with confidence. (a very important quality to me) Notes: From a tripod with a brake, I was able to spot my hits, however, I would of loved the opportunity to shoot it from some different positions to see how it performed. Ed
  6. All sorted. Thought it was on dovetails but was a trick of the eye. Spotted a very small slot at the front, had to pry it off with a screwdriver. The arrestor pin is quite long and it was a ball ache. Bag rider successfully fitted
  7. Hi all, I am trying to remove the Picatinny accessory rail from a Tikka tac A1. It is the short piece at the base of the butt (for monopods etc) There are two screws, which I have successfully removed, but it won't budge. Now there looks to be a pin in the middle, is this some sort of arrestor pin? If so, how is it removed? Or is the Pic rail (which slides onto some dovetails) just really stiff? One of those instances where I just don't know how much force to use Thanks in advance Ed
  8. Hi Blueboy, With the lack of shops open, I think I will take your advice and source some jacketed bullets online then, source a different powder for these lead bullets at a later date. many thanks
  9. Hi All, Got plenty of experience reloading bottleneck cartridges etc but not straight wall pistol calibres. I have a Henry Big Boy in .357 and was kindly donated some PPU Brass, 158gr SWC lead bullets and Ramshot Enforcer powder. (not an ideal combination) I have found load data for a 158 grain bullet with enforcer (12.5 grains minimum load) at a COL of 1.590. However, if I want to crimp into the cannelure on the PPU bullet then the COL would end up being around 1.546 So my question is, would it be a safe load? I imagine pressure would be increased. (I have loaded some dummy rounds only so not sure of the amount of space the powder will take up) Ed
  10. Hi All, I have 320, 6.5 calibre (.264) 140-grain Nosler RDF bullets that need to go. I am after £112 (£35 per 100) +p&p

If as Scotch_egg says, the new magazines fit the older AXMC then I would wait to find out from others if they improve feed/reliability in the real world. The improvements are genuine in my opinion. Although I don't know if the improved rifle comes with improved price...........

Have you purchased the rifle yet? The reason I ask, is that I had a butchers at the new AX MK111 while at the BSS. My understanding is that it is a long action but they have now incorporated a short-action calibre adapter into the magazine itself which offers vastly improved feed. Available in cals are .338 Norma, .300 Norma, .300 Win mag, .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor They have also got a new forend with Arca rail and they have added an ambi AR15 style 3-position safety catch. No idea on availability though!
  13. The Chiappa Alaskan is very good, I have used one a few times now, most recently I put 100's of rounds though one while on a visit to their factory in Italy. It was .44 Mag and was my favourite out of all the rifles/shotguns/pistols that I tried. I have found the Marlins I have used work best in .38/.357 for some reason but admit my experience is limited. Henry are alright but they don't have side gate reloading (though they have just launched one with a sidegate in the USA). Good luck with your purchase!
  14. I have tried the CCI BR2's and am now using Federal Match LRP's as they show a small improvement and cost less. I am using Starline Brass as Norma and Hornady performed even worse. Unfortunately my rife does not like Lapua SRP brass, the primers get pierced even with moderate loads. It's just weird, I can get amazing performance reloading my .223 and follow the same procedure for my 6.5 creedmoor but I just can't get the results. I want H4350 back!!!!! boohoo
  15. I have really struggled to get anything better than 1 MOA with 140 RDF's and even then I get the odd flyer. Out of interest, what sort of jump worked for you Baldie? I use RS62, can't remember the weight off the top of my head, I get about 2670 fps with an ES of 30 😕 which is just pants.

  17. Hi, I have a Bergara BMP (remy footprint) do have any reason to think that your stock wont fit my rifle? My research suggests it will, so just after a second opinion really. If you agree I will take the stock and full bottom metal and floor plate All the best Ed
