  1. Nah I'm wondering if something new has happened (ITAR and AECA aren't an issue here as I've followed the correct export procedures. I've done this many times). I'll wait and see what XS say. I was just interested to see if anyone had the same issue recently, as 2 packages returned the same week is really odd.
  2. Have you seen any articles or releases from the US about it? XS Sights said that normally there's a memo when there's a change but they haven't seen anything
  3. Has anyone experienced issues with US customs not allowing legal and properly exported parts out the states recently? I ordered an old K98 stock from one company and then a rail directly from XS Sights, using EasyExporter (to handle the export licensing requirements). I ordered the stock end of Feb and the rail about 2 weeks ago. Both were sent via USPS and both got ingested by US Customs in Jamaica NY and then returned to the sellers, with no explanation. Both items were sent with the correct export licences in place etc. but both bounced by US Customs. Has anyone else experienced the same? The stock has since arrived but the seller sent it via UPS instead, so this may just be an isolated issue with USPS and specifically the customs in NY... XS Sights has said they're still waiting on a reply from their exporter.
  4. Hi all, thanks for the replies. I contacted several riflesmiths/gunsmiths and got a couple of responses. Two said no, another asked for more information so I sent over drawings, forum links and a YouTube video I found of someone doing it and didn't get a reply. So..... I bought myself a cheap, small mill off eBay, bought the right bits to do it, milled my own receiver block out of aluminium and then did the job myself. The actual milling and hand finishing took me about an hour. Off to proof and job done.
  5. Hi all, I have a Edgar Brothers 20x42 scope, the UK version of the SWFA Super Sniper 20x42. Only bought recently for a project but won't fit. Some usage marks, clear optics. £150 delivered

  8. Thank you, I will drop them a message. Also, I've noticed I put this in the wrong thread.... should have been in Tactical. Apologies admins!
  9. Hi all, I am building a M40A1 replica and have spent a long time getting all the right parts (stock, bottom metal, scope, mounts, barreled action, sling etc.). The missing piece is the clip slots cut into the receiver. Does anyone know someone who can do this in the UK? I found this old thread on UKV about the M40A5 and Bradders and Davy both had experience of this work but sadly that knowledge is now lost. I PM'd Davy in the hope that he may one day check his inbox if he's still active at all in retirement. So.... does anyone happen to have a copy of the drawings for this work, or know of someone who does and could do the job? I am happy to give it a try myself but at the moment it would be guesswork 😐
  10. Very good question - with all accessories, I am not sure. I saw one sell in the US with just the bayonet for $2,300 (£1,800). For my condition rifle, with the magazine matching, the last I saw sell for £1,350 a few months ago. Highwood Classic Arms sold one the same as mine with a mismatched mag for £1,200 recently. Mummified rifles are around £3k (one sold on SD for £3k a few months ago link), depending where and if you can find them. If I had to take a guess, I'd say with all matching accessories in unissued condition - £1,500 - £1,800?
