There is rumour the new AT-XC will have a magnum bolt face in the future. The enlarged pressure relief port may be a sign that this will come to market. Although a time frame for this will be tbc. a cheeky 6mm creedmoor would be nice or even 6mmGT seeing as lapua are making brass. No need for brass forming IMHO with any 6mmbr basses wildcat. -

Depriming tools
Scotch_egg replied to Scotch_egg's topic in Suppressors / Moderators, Bipods, Anything else
Thank you for your thoughts both of you. Quite interesting what you say about de-priming in front of the TV. I am currently loading from a temporary location and being able to load anywhere is necessary. Be that in front of the TV or on the kitchen table. The idea of finger fatigue has put me right off, to be honest. I load batches at a time and only doing 20-30 before feeling discomfort doesn't sound like it will work for me. -
Euro Optic won't deliver to the UK and Sterk has gone quiet on SnipersHIde and also Facebook by all accounts. Brownells UK has them listed at a quite frankly ridiculous price but not in stock. I managed to get one secondhand last year. Although I must admit the Tikka factory large extension is preferable to me on an all-around rifle. It adds the extra leverage yet doesn't stick out too far and is aesthetically pleasing.

I have been using a generic lyman die for depriming on my press, has anyone got experience of one of these Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Handheld Depriming Tool - Brownells UK

Spuhr sct-3001- tikka m595
Scotch_egg replied to Novice1's topic in Suppressors / Moderators, Bipods, Anything else
I really like it on the T3 and would definitely recommend it, however I have had to take mine off and replace with a picatinny rail. Unfortunately the 34mm model doesn't fit my day scope and interferes with the turret housing so I have had to forgo the 30mm model as well. I was using them to swap from digital NV to day scope. I just can't get on with the image from a digital scope for day use. I have both the 30mm and 34mm models sat on the shelf and can't bring myself to move them on because I like them so much. Its like I am waiting for something to magically change on the day scope for it to fit, which I know isn't going to happen. But rest assured they are a great mount and look good as well. -

I don’t have experience of using the mount on an M595. I do have experience with the mount. Having looked at the photographs available online I see that the dovetail is interrupted over the ejection port. The dovetails appear to be lower to the bolt centre and as such the mount would hinder brass ejection. -
Cheers pal. apologies folks we seem to have hijacked this .284 thread. one thing is for sure the 7mm’s really do offer the best ballistics. They absolutely trump the 6.5’s and I can’t wait to get mine up and running. It’s been through 4 people now so no idea if the barrel is going to shoot or it’s toast. One thing is for sure I’ll be having another 7 SAUM barrel put on it if it is.

After a lot of searching for powder and coming up short. I came across the 7 SAUM reloading topic on snipershide. n560 showed some pretty great results and I found some in stock. It’s worth a go.

162’s but going to also try 180’s I haven’t decided which to use yet. The rifle has previously shot 180gr bergers. I’ve finally managed to pick up a kg if N560. I’m not planning on any snap shooting. I’ve got a use in mind that many won’t agree with 😜

I’m hoping for 3000fps in a7 SAUM 🤣

All the other places that sell garmin wouldn’t ship internationally when I enquired when it was out of stock at Area 419. -
The new AT-XC and AT-X Mil have been announced with updates actions. Including lighter bolt lift and changeable bolt heads. Sounds interesting. AI AT-XC Spec Sheet 2024.pdf

🤣 considering the action is the same for all the current short action rifles I can see limited runs of the AT.

A recent picture of a bullet with cut nose ring was a lot deeper than that video. it got me intrigued, keep us updated John.
