  1. Blimey that WAS quick. Lucky for me I already have one - good bits of kit and Dasherman is a gent to deal with.
  2. Gents, Am seriously considering getting one of these for use off rifle as a spotter and on rifle for pest control. However, I would also like to use it for long range daytime vermin control as a recording device to record my shooting, but have yet to see any mention on any posts of this facility. Does anyone know if it is suitable for this, what the results are likely to be like and will it possibly affect accuracy at long-ish (200yd) ranges? I look forward to hearing your opinions - thanks.
  3. That was quick. I'd be interested in knowing where you sold it as didnt see it on any of the other sites I normally keep an eye on?

    Extended picatinny rail

Neil Mckillop made me one for my Cooper - he did an excellent job and I thought the price was reasonable.

    long range vermin

+1 for .17 Fireball or .17Rem. My current favourite is the Fireball as I've recently picked up a lovely little Cooper Phoenix. A .22-250 was my first ever c/f and I've just sold it because it was too loud and kicked too much for what I needed. I've got a couple of .222Rems which is another great round but for Magpies and Crows the Fireball is relatively quiet (just picked up a Swift Precision .17 specific Mod and cannot believe how quiet it is on the Fireball - genuinely no louder than an hmr), very little recoil which means I can see what I'm hitting (usually just a big puff of feathers!). If I was after Charlie specifically I'd would take one of the .222's but TBH the Fireball is the only thing that ever comes out of the cabinet these days. The only downsides are wind performance & supply of brass, but at least it can be 'manufactured' from .221 Fireball.

    cooper arms

Hi Dave, I picked up a lovely Cooper Phoenix in .17 Fireball (cheers for Bergers BTW!) earlier this year. Had Neil McKillop re-thread/re-crown it and vapour blast the barrel and it now looks the dogs whatsits, especially wearing an S&B PMII 12-50x56. It is easily the most accurate rifle I've ever owned and I will probably only part with it when I shuffle off this planet. Will try to post some pics when/if I can.

A lot of S&B PMIIs for sale?

I recently picked up an as new 12-50 PM2. Have to say I'm absolutely chuffed with it. It's big and heavy and the fov leaves a little to be desired but optically it's fantastic and the image only starts to darken above about 40x mag. It blows my Swaro 6-30x50 into the weeds and I'd happily get another. Can't comment on the 5-25 model but I'm sure it's just as good.

    Accupod Rear Monopod Wanted

Gents, As above, after a rear monopod for my Fireball. If anyone has one in good condition they no longer require please PM me with a price - thanks.
  10. Gents, Its not often I do this but I just wanted to give full credit where it is due as really good customer service is rather hard to come by these days. I called them this morning and spoke to Mark (apparently he's the good looking one!) about some spares for a set of Tier One Tactical Mounts that I had bought s/h and he couldn't have been more helpful. Have to say that I was already really impressed with the quality of their products but it is nice to know their back-up service is equally as good. I'm a happy customer who wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy some high quality scope mounts.
  11. I don't believe it! I've had a 'wanted' post running on SD for a few weeks now for these bullets and then someone beats me to it on here! If anyone else has any of these unwanted please let me know - happy to buy part boxes and also on the look-out for .17Fireball brass and any factory ammunition if the price is sensible - thanks.
  12. I've got one of these with a jewell trigger and Boyds thumb hole stock and love it so have a bump on me! I would however be interested in what loads and COAL you use with the V-Max (presumably 20grn?) as despite these rifles being a 1:9 twist I cannot seem to get either the 20grn or 25grn V_Max to work at all. The 25grn Berger Varmint Match however are absolute mustard!

    .17 Remington Twist Rates

I've got a Rem 700 LVSF with a 1:9 twist and the best it will shoot the 25grn V-Max is about an inch at 50yds! Consequently I use the 25grn Berger Match HP bullets and these seem to work rather well and are explosive on small varmints.
