  1. I've used both N570 and N170 in mine and found a good combination with 88gr N170 and 300gr Scenars. I've got some 285's to try but not loaded any yet, again will probably stick with the N170 - I just always have got on better with the N100 series powders in most of my rifles. Barrel is 28" 1/10" twist
  2. Have a look at the brand new Sypderco Urban, expensive but they really got it right.... http://www.heinnie.com/spyderco-urban-lightweight
  3. Lots of good choices that will do the job and last well if properly cared for. My advice would be get yourself to a good outdoor shop with knowledgable staff and make sure they fit properly (don't just buy your size online and hope fir the best). I run Meindl and Scarpa - I have pairs over 10 years old that have seen constant heavy use, subjected to Derbyshire peat hags on a regular basis which is known as a boot killer. They are still going strong
  4. Federal cases are good as they have slightly less case volume than others, for projectiles try either the sierra or hornady 180 RN. You'll need to experiment on your load working down rather than up (without a can on in case of baffle strikes). Ive not done a whole lot of testing but watch out for cold bore shots - mine tended to be very low with the following shots then grouping consistently. This could cause a problem in the field! A 1:12 stabilised the 180's just fine. Contrary to some advice I've seen loading a BTHP backwards produced awful results, for me anyway, I could actually see the bullet looping and swirling to the target - it held about a minute of barn door literally.
  5. Colin showed me these mods last Saturday whilst at Senny, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to shoot with one on but they look a really solid and well engineered piece of kit.
