Looking at getting a 22 wmr and interested to hear People's experience with different rifles

Seems a limited choice but wondered about the real world accuracy and hands on experience with the CZ452 &455, plus the ruger as sako quad is out of my budget

Cheers all

Several years ago now but I first had a Ruger in 22 wmr ,,,think it was a "vbz"?,,,,then from fuzzy memory I had/ think it was a Mauser201? followed by an Annie 1700,,,lovely rifle!!,,,,all were good and only governed by available ammo that proved accurate,,,,,,emphatically the best ammo was RWS but very expensive.I would not go down this road again and would look to the small centrefires without doubt.,,,,,O

I had a Sako Quad (.22LR and .22WMR barrels) and to be honest I was not impressed. The first rifle was replaced under warranty (the bolt could not be inserted) and the second rusted so I part exchanged with the RFD where I purchased the rifle for a .22LR Ruger American.

Also, the ammunition is expensive (the last I purchased, which was a while ago was £12.50 per 50 rounds), do you really need a .22WMR? Far too expensive for plinking! It was however, quite accurate out to 100m

If you are not hunting (and therefore will use hollowpoint ammunition), solid ammunition can be much more difficult to obtain.

Just my personal experience.

i have a ruger stainless laminate , loves the 30-33 grain ammo , it's been bedded and had the trigger fettled , barrel shortened and a reflex mod fitted

I love it but just don't use it anymore , if you want to give it a try let me know ? although I am a bit of a trek from you !
