maximus otter
Does your missus have a sewing machine? My sweetie stitched up what I call my "Four Six Eight" bag out of old denim jeans legs. It's called the "Four Six Eight" because it's a rectangle of those dimensions, which gives plenty of variety of rest height. Stuffing was the expensive part: IIRC she paid £17 for proper polythene toy-stuffing beads. The big advantage over sand/rice etc. is that it doesn't absorb moisture and stays the same weight. maximus otter

Catch-22
I do actually have a TAB rear bag but due to the cordura, I find it's a little too slippery. Well made bag and everything but too slippery. I think I'm gonna cover it with an only pair of jeans or cotton shirt to give it some more grip.
