IMHO, one high quality "jewel" is the Leupold VX-2 6-18x40 with AO and target turrets (optional), if light gathering and the magnification range are adequate for your needs. I replaced them with the 6.5-20 x 50 with v-plex grat seen here: http://www.vortexoptics.com/category/viper_riflescopes These are excellent for target shooting, around £350, with a lifetime warranty.
