sam39
Good evening, I have a new inlet aftermarket stock should be a drop in but is not. I would like it inlet correctly I can see now it needs attention around the rear of the bolt, trigger unit and barrel channel and in general needs tiding up. Could anyone recommend someone in the North East England/ Boarders to do this work properly for for me ? Thanks Sam
sam39
I have no woodworking tools. I have seen now on the internet what a dermal is (i have seen it mentioned on here before) they are £45 with several fixings, is this what i need to have a go at it myself to remove small amounts of wood for a better fit? I have done barrel channels before with dowling rod and sand paper successfully but that is the extent of my smithing skills to date!

Re-Pete
A Dremel is fine for accurately removing small quantities of material to get a snug fit or clearance for bolt/recoil lug/trigger etc. when restocking. Practice on some offcuts first, though........... RePete
Akeld
Either a dremmel type tool and then bed with devcon, or Alan Maughan has a fully equiped workshop, he's Big Al on here

chaz
I'm sure Dremel are great bits of kit, but you will be paying mostly for the name.... Find another "copy" on the web, (Fleabay) and a full accessory pack for it. Will save you a small fortune.... I've been using a copy 6 to 8 years now with no issues at all, and bedded around 4 to 6 actions, and cleared plenty of forends channels to give a free floating barrel. Very satisfying knowing you did the work..... Try and get a wattage with variable speed. But each to their own. Happy shooting! Chaz. P.S Something like this...... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Craft-Multi-Tool-High-speed-with-140-pieces-dremel-replica/253102098243?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Cut/copy to your task bar. sam39
Thank you all for your info. I think I have established that indeed the dremel type tool kit is the correct one for the job in hand. I was not really looking for "a project" so I will speak to Alan and be advised by him. Thanks again Sam
Re-Pete
If you take the Dremel (or a clone) route, get a mains operated one........the battery types won't have enough go to remove ply laminate. RePete
