pigeonbasher1
hi, i have a cz 527.22 hornet with full length barrel, i would like it chopped but the gun shop that i use says he strongly advises against it as it would affect accuracy idealy id'e like it about 18 inch, what are your thoughts please, atb ray
phoenix
It won't affect accuracy. I have a Weihrauch HW66 in 22 Hornet with a 16 1/2" barrel and it's a tack driver. Clive Ward, who is a member on here has a Weihrauch HW66 in 22 Hornet with a barrel which is just over the legal minimum of 12" and he shoots a load of foxes and rabbits with it. treetop
Surely that's something you should contact him about ? No offence, but business is business & prices can change year on year - due to lots of factors... For my 2p.... What lenght is it at the moment ? What contour is it ? What is your main aim to achieve? Every inch you remove will have + & - points that will either improve or not the usefulness of your rifle. Likewise, who you get to do the work, could great have an effect. As you don't give your location, it's hard to advise you as to who to talk to in your local area.
