Good question. Have often though of a Cooper rifle but have never seen one.

Was going to ask who the importers are but a quick google shows that it's Fox Firearms up at Diggle ranges. Must have a look next time I'm there. Only ever heard great things about him. :)

I have a Cooper M22 which started life as a Phoenix in .243. It now wears a Sassen barrel in a modified Sendero profile, chambered in 6mm BR Remington, which was fitted by Neil Mckillop. He also re-bedded the recoil lug as the factory bedding was a strange flexible compound. The stock was re-painted in grey with black spider web. It's a pleasure to shoot, but I am tempted to advertise it for sale as I just have too much stuff...

They sound good rifles i've been looking at the various types they do in 6mbr, as i'm searching for which companies make factory rifles in this caliber, not keen on the savage for what i want it for.

Hi Dave, I picked up a lovely Cooper Phoenix in .17 Fireball (cheers for Bergers BTW!) earlier this year. Had Neil McKillop re-thread/re-crown it and vapour blast the barrel and it now looks the dogs whatsits, especially wearing an S&B PMII 12-50x56. It is easily the most accurate rifle I've ever owned and I will probably only part with it when I shuffle off this planet. Will try to post some pics when/if I can.

The big drawback with the Cooper in 6mmBr was that they only fitted 1 in 14" barrels and it was actually chambered in 6mmBr REM, not Norma. There is a huge difference.

Mark,if the Coopers shoot a little left for you,it's easy to re-zero.

You do know how to zero don't you?

17rem and dave t can probably help, they seem to have it squared away.

(Dave t -post 15 -if getting off topic, blame dave t - post 18 ).

;-)

The only rifle I've ever regretted selling was a Cooper pro varmint extreme in 22ppc, for the money they are fantastic rifles, I'd go as far to say that they fill the gap between good factory rifles and a custom gun.
